Pedro Prazeres

Pedro, born in Lisbon in 1981, is interested in exploring the Dancing Landscape and the Dancing Body. How they relate, in which levels, under which principles, are the questions motivating him through is life. Brought up in the countryside, he moved to Lisbon where he graduated as a Landscape Architect in 2005 and was part of  TUT - Lisbon Technical University Theatre. Finland welcomed him in 2004 during his Landscape studies.

After one year in PROAP - Portugal, one year in Dundee City Council - Scotland, he started to study Contemporary Dance in The Space, Scotland and then in Duncan Centre in Prague where he was accepted as a guest student for 3 years. For 2 years, he was an assistant teacher of Landscape Architecture in FA-CVUT -Prague, exploring teaching methods of Landscape through a Dance approach. Pedro was granted in 2009 by Inov-Art fund by dgArtes (Portuguese Government) with the Portuguese Language Centre in Prague.

He worked in Scotland and now works as a Landscape Architect , a Dancer, Performer and Choreographer in Portugal, Spain, Turkey and in Czech Republic where he’s based at the moment.

As a performer he was and is part of his own dance projects and he collaborated with choreographers, dance companies and artists from different art fields in Czech Republic (Berrak Yedek, Cansu Ergin, Jan Komarek, Lenka Bartunkova, Michal Zahora, Nanohach, Honza Malik, Petr Forman – The Forman Brothers, Veronika Svabova, Zdenka Brungot Svitekova, Anna Caunerova, NAU, George Cremaschi, Barbora Latalova), Slovakia (Zdenka Brungot Svitekova, Anna Caunerova, Anna Sedlackova, Dano Racek), Portugal (Patricia Andrade, Maria Joao Fonseca and Pedro Pina Vasconcelos), Spain (Goncalo Almeida, Noelia Fuertes, Pedro Pina Vasconcelos), Israel (Anat Danieli) and Turkey (Berrak Yedek, Cansu Ergin).

Through workshops, journeys and travels he has been exploring other fields of himself in Dance, Landscape and Movement after and during his official studies. 

He is now creating and exploring Landscapes and Dance as result of his continuous solo and group research with Homeless Kingdom and other collaborations, presenting and sharing his work worldwide.
